Start with the story

Read this out loud before the first clue. It turns “go find some cards” into a mission.

Calling All Firefighters

Calling all Junior Firefighters!

This is Chief Rosie at the Fire Station. This morning our station dog, Pepper the Dalmatian, decided to play fetch with our rescue gear! She trotted off with the helmets, the boots, the hose nozzle and even the station bell, and hid them all around.

Pepper left a trail of spots, and I have tucked eight Rescue Call cards along the way. Each one has a rhyming riddle that tells you where to search next.

Firefighters are brave, careful and great at working as a team. Walk, don’t run, help each other, and shout “Ding-a-ling!” every time you find a card. Follow the trail to the very end, where a big surprise is waiting!

Your first Rescue Call card is attached. Boots on, firefighters!

Stay safe and have fun,
Chief Rosie, Fire Chief

  5. Clue 5

Who’s that smiling right back at you?
Check by the mirror, you’ll see something new!

Answer: Mirror. Hide it: Taped to the corner of a mirror.

Between clues, read a firefighter rhyme to keep the story going:

Ding-a-ling! Firefighters, gear up and go,
Pepper ran off with the rescue gear, oh no!

Wee-oo, wee-oo! The siren rings loud,
You found a clue! Pepper would be proud!

One piece is left, then the station is set,
Find it, then give Pepper a hug and a pet!

Yes. Pick spots in every room and zig-zag between them. The apartment trail below uses eight spots every apartment has.
